Square and Shopify include their own card processing and charge a fee on the sales they process; all three can also record a payment taken on an outside terminal. There is nothing to install — Sicada runs in any browser on a laptop, tablet or phone you already own, with no proprietary POS hardware. A receipt printer, cash drawer and barcode scanner are all optional. Cash needs nothing extra. For card payments you use your own card reader and payment provider — they process the transaction and Sicada records the sale as paid by card; built-in card processing is a future feature, not available yet.
