Loyverse is a genuinely good free POS, and for a lot of small shops it's the right choice. This is an honest look at where Sicada is a better fit — and where it isn't.
Free forever · No credit card · No trial
Loyverse is a long-established, widely used free POS. Its free plan is unusually complete: the point of sale, an essential inventory, a loyalty program, sales analytics, a customer display, a kitchen display and multi-store management, all at no cost. Card payments are handled inside the app, through Loyverse Payments or an integrated provider.
Sicada divides things differently. Stock tracking is on the Pro plan, the loyalty program is on the Business plan, an account covers a single shop, and Sicada records card payments rather than processing them. If you rely on Loyverse's free inventory or loyalty, or you run more than one location, Loyverse is very likely the better choice and this page won't try to talk you out of it.
Where Sicada is worth a look: the point of sale itself runs in a web browser with nothing to install or update, and dine-in tabs are part of the core POS, with QR-code ordering and delivery tracking on the Pro plan. It's also one plan — Free, Pro or Business — rather than a free core with separate paid modules.

Each product genuinely wins some of these rows. Which ones matter is up to your shop.

Loyverse's features and plan structure were checked against Loyverse's official pages in September 2026 and can change — see Loyverse pricing and Loyverse for restaurants for current details. Sicada's own plans are the Free, Pro and Business plans.
If any of these is why you use Loyverse, it's a good reason to stay.
Loyverse includes an essential inventory, a loyalty program and sales analytics on its free plan. On Sicada, stock tracking and the analytics dashboard are on the Pro plan, and the loyalty program is on Business.
Loyverse handles card payments inside the app — through Loyverse Payments, or an integrated reader from providers like SumUp, Zettle or Tyro in 30+ countries. With Sicada, your own card terminal processes the payment today, and Sicada records it against the sale; built-in card processing is a feature we're building for later, not available yet.
Loyverse includes multi-store management on its free plan, so several locations run under one account. A Sicada account covers one shop.
Loyverse has been established for years, with a big integrations marketplace, hardware support and an app in 40+ languages. Sicada is newer and covers 13 languages.
Every point here is something you can check against the product before you commit.
Sicada's point of sale is a web page. It works the same on a laptop, a Chromebook, an iPad or an Android tablet, with nothing to download from an app store and nothing to update on each device. Loyverse's register is an iOS or Android app; its web Back Office is for reports and setup.
Open a tab for each table on any plan. Upgrade to Pro to print a QR code for each table so guests can order straight to it — no separate integration to set up. Loyverse names tickets for tables, and adds QR ordering through its Marketplace apps.
On the Pro plan, mark an order for delivery, assign a driver, move it through preparing, out and delivered, and record the delivery fee. Loyverse offers a “Delivery” dining option for tickets.
You pick Free, Pro or Business and everything in that plan is included. Loyverse starts free and you add paid modules — unlimited sales history, employee management, advanced inventory — as separate subscriptions. Neither approach is automatically cheaper; it depends what you need.
The Free plan needs no card, so any of these is easy to test before you move.
Sicada has no Loyverse import tool. You'd re-enter your products by hand, or scan barcodes as you add them. Past sales and customer history don't transfer.
That makes a switch most realistic for a shop whose catalogue is small enough to rebuild in an afternoon, or one that's opening fresh. If you have thousands of items and years of history in Loyverse, moving is a real project — worth weighing against what you'd actually gain.
Both have a free plan with no card required — Sicada's Free plan is $0 forever, with no trial to expire. They divide the free features differently: Loyverse includes an essential inventory, a loyalty program and sales analytics for free, while on Sicada those are on the paid plans. Sicada's Free plan includes an unlimited product catalogue, full sales history, offline checkout and dine-in tabs; QR-code ordering is on the Pro plan. Which plan is more generous depends on what you need.
Loyverse's register is an app you install on an iPhone, iPad or Android device, with a separate browser page for reports. Sicada's register runs in the browser itself, so it works the same on a phone, tablet, laptop or Chromebook with nothing to download.
Loyverse includes an essential inventory on its free plan. On Sicada, stock tracking and low-stock alerts are on the Pro plan. If free inventory is the reason you use Loyverse, that is a good reason to stay with it.
For table service it can be simpler than Loyverse: dine-in tabs are built into the Free plan, and QR-code ordering and delivery tracking on Pro need no separate integration to set up. Loyverse handles tables with named tickets and adds QR ordering through its Marketplace apps. For most other needs, Loyverse's free plan covers more.
Sicada has no Loyverse import tool. You add your products by hand or by scanning barcodes, and past sales do not carry over. It is most practical for a shop small enough that re-entering the catalogue is not a big job.
Often the honest answer is no — Loyverse is a capable, genuinely free POS. Switching makes sense mainly if you want the till to run in a browser with nothing installed, or you want tables, and on Pro, QR ordering and delivery, all in the same core POS. The Free plan takes no card, so you can run Sicada alongside Loyverse before deciding.
